![]() [Joshua 1:7] "Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do." God comes to Joshua personally with specific instructions and direction in this scripture. God has already prepared the way but, it will take quite a bit of personal fortitude on Joshua's part. Joshua must have the courage to rise and be confident in the calling that God had placed upon his life. What are the things God has prepared for you to do? What talents or gifts can you use for God? What are those things that God has given you a passion for? Your courage and strength will rise when you have confidence in the call. You're not just courageous to be courageous, but you are courageous for something. Find our what that something is this week!

![]() [2 Samuel 21:1] "Now there was a famine in the days of David for three years, year after year; and David inquired of the Lord..." There are times in life where circumstances can or could be avoided if we would only inquire God. To inquire simply means to "ask for information from someone". When we think of talking to God, we sometimes make it so difficult. In our minds, we think we have to say certain words and go through specific motions. However, if there are things we need in life it's as simple as asking God. What are His thoughts and opinions on our life? If you need answers this week, do not make it complicated. Simply, inquire the Lord. ![]() [1 Timothy 4:1] "Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons." We people think of great duos, there is a case to be argued that peanut butter and jelly could rank quite high. They've been together since the dawn of time and no one can argue their greatness when combined. Holy Spirit and the Word of God work the exact same way. While peanut butter and jelly can stand on their own, Holy Spirit and the Word of God were always meant to work in conjunction with one another for the full benefit of the believer. It is key that everything we do line up with the word of God AND Holy Spirit! ![]() [1 John 2:16] "For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world." There is an increasing sense today to live up to society's expectations. It could be the guy down the street with the flashy car. It may be the Mom at the parent/teacher conference with her designer fashion purse, perfect makeup, and flawless ensemble. It could be the kid with the new iPhone and every other electronic device made available. However, if your real goal is happiness, there is only one way to true joy. When we begin to seek things of the Father, we find a fulfillment that cannot be matched by anything this world offers. If you find yourself looking for contentment this week, look to the way, the truth, and the life. |
